Sterling Sculpture on Loan
Lunchtime entertainment… First Fridays showcase vocalists and musicians during the lunch hour on the first Friday of each month beginning in September through June. Sterling Concert Series provides a variety of concerts and shows featuring fun entertainment. Northeastern Jr. College: Large scale, fully produced concerts feature students, often collaborating with outside entities like The Air Force Falconaires and The Colorado Ballet for fantastic interaction with the community. Information about upcoming performances is available at www.njc.edu/program/music and don’t forget to check out the Sterling High School Band for local high school productions.

Downtown Sterling has been placed on the U.S. historical register. A walking tour through the district will showcase many picturesque buildings, including the local courthouse. The town was founded in 1873 and incorporated in 1884 . The first house being built by William Hadfield in 1871 near the South Platte River. A rich, varied history covers time when Native Americans moved across the Plains to early settlers homesteading in what was once part of Weld County, cattle drives, oil booms and so much more as the county has grown

Built in 1936, this museum offers a look at the past with a 14-building historical village, exhibits about the history of the oil/gas industry and The Overland Trail, and heritage events to experience early settlers’ life.
